Nestled in the Ozarks, Branson is called the Live Music Show Capital of the World because on any given day, there are almost 90 shows ranging from music, magic and comedy at over 50+ theaters throughout the city. If you’re looking for some good-old fashioned-wholesome fun, Branson is your place.
When you’re looking for something to do between shows, there isn’t void of activities. There are museums, water-parks, the College of the Ozarks, a winery, the great outdoors to enjoy and of course there is a ton of shopping with Ozark flair.
Shows
The Shoji Tabuchi Theater is the home to Japanese country music fiddler and singer Shoji Tabuchi. He developed a love for country music at a young age and arrived in Branson in 1980. In his show’s 22 year history, he has created a music empire! He doesn’t just play country but also polka, gospel, Cajun, Hawaiian, rap, rock, and patriotic music.
You also can’t miss SIX at the Mickey Gilley Theater, these guys are GOOD!
Catch Tracy Heaston’s flying fingers at Grand Country Music Hall
Then travel to the Pierce Arrow Theater to see the Pierce Arrow Quartet for a little gospel or the Clay Cooper Theater for a little country and comedy. There are even “Pet Shows” around town! As you can see, you won’t be at a loss for family friendly entertainment.
Shopping
Shopping in Branson is so much fun! Not only are there Ozark-flavor shops, but there are outlet shops too. Who doesn’t love a bargain? The new Branson Landing is located on the water front and expect a beautiful site! The boardwalk on the Landing is brand new with shops, restaurants, street musicians and a dancing fountain like infront of the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Expect the typical planned community/mall stores, but there are also locally owned shops as well.
If you are the crafty type, then you have to see the Branson Craft Mall. There are over 200 booths of crafts and art including an opportunity to watch craftsmen such as potters, silversmiths, basket weavers, seamstresses and even some stained glass artisans at work.
Wine
The Stone Hill Winery is another great stop as Missouri’s premier winery and the second largest winery in the United States. Stone Hill contains the largest series of underground wine cellars in North America. At the Branson facility you can tour the sparkling wine and cream sherry production, catch a video about wine making, enjoy a taste (or two) and of course, there is a large gift shop!
The Great Outdoors
Branson is a great getaway for golfers of all skill levels. There are par-3 courses to 18-hole championship courses, golf pros to help you and great pro shops.
There are three lakes to explore where you can relax or go fishing for bass, trout, catfish, and walleye. You can even rent a fishing boat if you’d like. They have ski boats and house boats for rent too.
