Wupatki National Monument

Wupatki National Monument

Flagstaff. Upon arrival, you will check into the Embassy Suites and then off to a late afternoon yoga class at the Wupatki National Monument with Heather Bostion. While there is proof of human habitation 10,000 years ago, a large and influential pueblo thrived  in the 1100’s in the area that is now considered Wupatki National Monument. About 100 people lived in that area, and several thousand more lived nearby. The community prospered for a time as a community and place of trade, and then the people moved on. You will see the remnants of their pueblos and homes. After a great yoga class with amazing scenery, you will return to your hotel for a cocktail reception and Welcome dinner.

Day 2 – Wake up to enjoy breakfast at the hotel and pack your bags, you’re on

Monument Valley

Monument Valley

your way to Monument Valley! Monument Valley’s magical formations were created by the erosion of the Rocky Mountains, depositing into sandstone. The land continues to be shaped by nature. You will experience the wonder of discovery among the buttes, mesas, canyons, and free standing rock formations that fill Monument Valley with a tour lead by native guide of Monument Valley’s floor and by 4 wheel drive vehicle. After touring, you will savor an afternoon yoga class with Malissa Bobbitt in the tranquility of the land, culture, and traditions infusing the valley. After an awesome asana, you head to Tuba City to check into the Quality Inn and a relaxing dinner.

Antelope Canyon

Antelope Canyon

Day 3 – Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before checking out and departing for Page to continue your adventure in the Navajo Nation. First you will tour Antelope Canyon with a native guide. Antelope Canyon is the most-photographed and most-visited slot canyon in the American Southwest. There are two canyons, the Upper Antelope Canyon with the Navajo name of Tsé bighánílíní, which means “the place where water runs through rocks.” The Lower Antelope Canyon is Hazdistazí or “spiral rock arches.” After your tour of Antelope Canyon, depart for Lake Powell to enjoy another yoga class with Malissa. After class, you will check into the Quality Inn in Page and enjoy dinner together!

Day 4 – Today is an amazing day packed with yoga in the splendors of the Southwest’s beauty! After breakfast at the hotel, get ready for your morning yoga practice at Lee’s Ferry along the Colorado River. After lunch on your own, reconvene to for an afternoon yoga

You will have a chance to get settled and then enjoy your last dinner together.

WOW! This sounds lovely. I really enjoyed Antelope Canyon, and Wupatki National Monument is such a beautiful, peaceful place. On the way to Wupatki is the really stunning Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, with miles and miles of black lava rock and complete quiet. Such a surreal place.

Arizona is simply breathtaking. Reading this itinerary makes me want to pack my bags right away and head straight to Antelope Canyon. I can only imagine how great it feels to do yoga while the scenery around you is so inspiring and beautiful. Plus, it is all made naturally. Northern Arizona Yoga Getaway sounds like a dream. It is surely looks like one of the best yoga retreats I have read about.

Arizona is basically amazing. Understanding this schedule makes me need to gather my packs immediately and make a beeline for Antelope Canyon. I can just envision how awesome it feels to do yoga while the landscape around you is so moving and excellent. Besides, it is all made actually.
