Napa Valley
Napa Valley, right at the northern region of CA, is one of the richest wine-producing states. It is home to various wineries with each one producing different blends and varieties of wines.

There are many excursions that can take you to this place in California. Wine lovers, honeymooners and just about anyone else can take a much-deserved vacation there. With beautiful surroundings to boost, this is a destination that is sure to be remembered. (Are you ready to go on a California Wine Vacation?)

Sonoma Valley
If you are one of those who prefer to see the Sonoma Valley wineries, then there are public excursions that can take you there. Explore the area  thru a bus ride. There are two hotels where the buses stop over, just make sure to ask the locals. The morning trip of 10:30 can take you to the Kunde Estate Winery, the St. Francis Winery, the Ledson Winery, Valley of the Moon Winery, and the VJB Vineyards and Cellars.

Whether you choose to visit the wineries of Napa or Sonoma, it really doesn’t matter. Northern California is considered as the mecca of wineries so wherever you choose to go, you are sure to learn a lot about what types of wines are produced there and what conditions need to met in order to produce the best wines.

Here are some of the best-tasting wines that you will enjoy at the wine tasting sessions that you are bound to attend either at Napa or Sonoma Valley

  • Cabernet Sauvignon – this is a red grape wine and is probably the world’s most recognized variety. Originating in France, the wine has spread throughout the European regions and is now in Napa Valley.
  • Chardonnay – this type of wine is produced by pressing green-skinned grapes. Just like its brother the Cabernet Sauvignon, it also originated in France.
  • Merlot – this is a blue-colored wine which is used in blending many other wines.
  • Pinot Grigio – this is a variety of white wine  but it has many flavors such as melon, pear, citrus fruit, honey, even smoky flavor. It is best paired with pasta, sea foods or any food with cheese.
  • White Zinfandel – often called the White Zin, this is a dry blush-colored wine. This often has a low alcohol content, a reason why many of those who do not prefer common wines choose this.

There are many other classic and new blends of wines to discover – and what better way is there to learn about these than to visit California? The demand for wine all over the world will continue to rise – this is certain. So to visit the very place that produces most of the supply is something that you should not pass.
