Let us put "JOY" in your travel!
The Pacific Northwest is full of beautiful landscapes, delicious food, and great experiences. We’ve already detailed some great places to visit in nearby Seattle, so if you are in Seattle, consider extending your trip to Vancouver or dedicate your next trip to Vancouver exclusively. In addition to taking in breathtaking vistas of land and sea, you’ll also enjoy delicious food and fun outdoor
activities. The best time to visit is in the summer months. Here’s our guide to Vancouver:
Begin your trip with a view. Ride the glass elevator 553 feet up to the Vancouver Lookout at Harbor Center, which offers panoramic views of the city and mountains. Continue by boarding a nearby ferry called the SeaBus at Waterfront Station for a 15-minute boat ride of scenic views. Just 15 minutes away from downtown, board the Grouse Mountain Skyride which is an aerial tram that takes you 3,700 feet above sea level to take in views of the city.
For shopping and entertainment, go to Canada Place which was built on a shipping dock and resembles a sailing ship. Here, you will find an IMAX theatre, cruise ship docks, and a walking promenade. Next, visit the Vancouver Aquarium, which has more than 70,000 animals. To see more than 9,000 pieces of art, visit the Vancouver Art Gallery. Another great museum is the Museum of Anthropology at University of British Columbia, where you’ll find art and cultural artifacts. If you’d like to shop, go to the neighborhoods of Yaletown or Gastown.
For an outdoor adventure, visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge where you’ll cross over this swaying bridge over the Capilano River twice. Continue enjoying the outdoors by visiting Kitsilano Beach for people watching and relaxation. Next, visit the VanDusen Botanical Garden, where you’ll be able to walk among 255,000 individual plants from around the globe. Plan to stop at Stanley Park and hop aboard a horse-drawn carriage or walk throughout the park.
Foodies will appreciate the different cuisine options. Visit an outdoor market, bakery, Chinatown, or enjoy a meal at one of the popular farm-to-table restaurants in the city. The city is also known for some excellent coffee, so make a stop in one of the cafes if you are in need of a delicious coffee.
Enjoy beautiful Vancouver, Canada!
