Let us put "JOY" in your travel!
Brr…it’s cold outside! In fact, today it’s too cold to be outside for too long, making it the perfect time to stay indoors and plan your next vacation. If warm weather, beaches, tropical drinks, and relaxation are on the docket for your next vacation, then Turks & Caicos is perfect for you!
When visiting this beautiful place, you may just want to relax, go to the spa, or read a book on the beach, but there are many other activities you can participate in on these beautiful islands. Better yet, the islands are a 90-minute plane ride from Miami.
Turks & Caicos has beautiful coral reefs, so rent some snorkel or scuba gear to explore the reefs. We recommend hiring an expert who can take you to the best reefs in the area. Or, if you’re traveling with kids, consider the Undersea Explorer Semi Submarine which allows the entire family to see the coral reefs.
Next, visit the caves of Middle Caicos, which is also known as the Conch Bar Caves. Here, you’ll experience the largest chain of limestone caves in the Caribbean. Because the site lacks clear walking paths, we suggest you hire a guide to give you a tour of the caves. Continue the conch theme by visiting the Caicos Conch Farm, which is very interesting.
Visit Grand Turk Lighthouse for some excellent whale watching or choose to take a boat ride in order to see the whales but keep in mind that the whales will only be seen January 15 through April 15.
To experience a quant little museum with everything from shipwrecks to messages in a bottle, visit the Turks and Caicos National Museum. Finally, you’ll see beautiful beaches around the island but be sure to make a stop at Grace Bay Beach for a truly beautiful beach that will take your breath away. This beach is the largest attraction on the islands. For another breathtaking turquoise water, white-sand beach, visit Chalk Sound National Park.
We hope this guide has been helpful but we can’t emphasize it enough. If you visit the islands, take a moment to relax on the beach and take in the beauty of the crystal clear water and white-sand beaches.
