Let us put "JOY" in your travel!
When seen from Victoria Peak, Hong Kong is magnificent. You never knew there could be so many skyscrapers. The city offers a vast array of excellent attractions for you to enjoy whether you are there for two days or five days.
As mentioned the most visited landmark is Victoria Peak, which is the highest point on Hong Kong Island. The site offers incredible views of the city in addition to offering a variety of walks in the park once you reach the top. You’ll reach the peak via the 125-year-old Peak Tram. Further, while you’re in the area, we recommend visiting at least one temple. In Hong Kong, that temple is Man Mo Temple, which is one of the city’s oldest temples.
If you are interested in a one-day excursion, tour nearby Lantau Island, where you will visit the Giant Buddha Exhibition Hall at Po Lin Monastery. We recommend hiring a professional guide who will take you to beaches, traditional fishing villages, and more. Or, consider taking a day trip to Macau, where you can visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites and more. Or, if you’re traveling with kids, plan a day at Hong Kong Disneyland or Ocean Park (which has a zoo and aquarium).
While you’re in the city, you should check out the at least one market. Temple Street Night Market is a bustling night-time market where you can buy anything from bizarre medicines to watches. Or Stanley Market in an old fishing village offers home decor and jewelry. Keep in mind that if you visit a market, it is normal to bargain on the prices with the vendors. Want to keep shopping? Visit the IFC mall or the Times Square mall for great restaurants and shopping. If it’s open, visit the well-landscaped IFC rooftop.
Did you know that Hong Kong is in fact an archipelago of 260 islands? To see all of the islands, charter a junk boat (a traditional Chinese fishing boat) for a tour of the local islands. Or, if you’d like stay within the downtown area, hop on board the Star Ferry which provides a scenic route through downtown. Finally, enjoy Kowloon West Promenade, which offers a waterfront walk of the bustling harbor. We hope you enjoy your trip to Hong Kong!
