Let us put "JOY" in your travel!
Los Angeles is a large, spread-out city with much to offer for everyone. The first thing that comes to mind is celebrities or movies, but there’s so much more to this famous city.
Let’s start with the attractions surrounded around celebrities and the film industry. First up, visit the Chinese Theatre and Hollywood Walk of Fame to walk amongst stars and get your picture taken. Next up, consider a tour of celebrity homes. Or, if you’d like to get as close as possible to Hollywood Sign, consider a hike or catch a glimpse on Beachwood Drive or at Lake Hollywood Park. If you’re a fan of hiking, consider Angeles National Forest which offers trails or scenic drives.
When it comes to theme parks, there are some great options. Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, or Disneyland are perfect for families. Next up, beaches. Venice Beach is a popular area for people watching or simply relaxing by the beach. Also popular is the Santa Monica Pier which offers games, rides, and an aquarium. You may also choose to take an hour boat ride to Catalina Island for zip-lining, wildlife spotting, or relaxing.
There are other attractions that are definitely worth checking out. For a great view of the city, visit Griffith Observatory but keep in mind that it closes at 10pm, so get there before then to get a great view of the city, especially at night. If you’re looking for a relaxing paddleboat ride with city views, check out Echo Lake Park. For wine lovers, hop in the car and travel to Malibu for fantastic vineyards and great wine. Or if you’re not a fan of wine, Malibu has some great beaches and sweeping views.
If you are a fan of museums, check out the California Science Center for a tour of the space shuttle Endeavor. For an art museum, visit the Getty Center which offers impressionist canvasses and furniture exhibits. Finally, check out The Broad, which holds a great collection of contemporary art.
When it comes to shopping, Los Angeles doesn’t disappoint. Visit the infamous Rodeo Drive for designer stores. Finally, visit the Farmers Market for people watching and great food. Located nearby is The Grove, which is also a great place to shop or spot celebrities. We hope this blog has been helpful in giving you an idea of great places to visit in LA. Happy travels!
